Continuous casting
Continuous cast iron bar is produced with various sections in grey iron (GJL), SG iron (GJS) and special alloys (by agreement). Round sections come in standard diameters of 30 mm to 440 mm, while square sections come in standard dimensions of 40x40 mm to 300x300 mm.
Owing to the production method used, continuous cast iron bar has a fine-grained structure, which ensures good density. This, together with excellent pressure tightness, makes continuous cast iron bar ideal for manufacturing hydraulic and pump components. It is also highly suitable for making all sorts of other items: pulleys for V-belts, gear wheels, rings, flanges, covers, valve linings, glass moulds, diecasting moulds, patterns, core boxes and bushes.
It comes in standard lengths (3, 2 or 1 m), special lengths (by agreement) and machined: milled, drilled and/or cut to length to customer specification.
Continuous cast iron bar is ideal for processing in automatic machines and machining centres. Cutting is easier because the graphite flakes are smaller. As no sand is used in production, tools last longer, there is no sand contamination and the risk of inclusions or shrinkage holes is minimal.
