Casting
We offer our customers the optimum manufacturing process for a broad spectrum of machine-moulded castings weighing up to approximately 80 kg in medium and large volumes with and without cores.
Continuous cast iron bars and hand-moulded castings can be supplied in a variety of grey and nodular iron alloys, thanks to skills available in other companies in the BIRN Group:
a) Cast iron bars from A/S Tasso
b) Hand-moulded castings up to 3,000 kg from Uldalls Jernstøberi A/S

Material qualities
BIRN produce a wide range of standard cast materials in grey iron and nodular iron.
Special quality irons and various forms of heat treatment are also available.

Technology and process
At BIRN we use the latest iron casting technologies.
Iron melting and holding are done in state-of-the-art induction furnaces.
Our large assortment of Disamatic moulding plant together with automatic core insertion and automatic moulders, combined with all our different core blowers, blasting plant and grinding/cleaning robots, makes us very flexible.

Several types of core machines combined with core coating and drying in a microwave oven.

Grinding and fettling robots ensure consistant, uniform finishing.
