In 2006 BIRN and China Metal International created the company CMB.
CMB is for now a production facility producing and surface treating casting goods from a CMI owned casting facility - China Metal Suzhou.
The treated goods are primarily sold to European and American customers with production facilities in China. Birn in Germany and Denmark also import goods for resale in Europe. Two Birn employees are working at CMB: Kristian Ager (former Quality Manager at Birn Machining), and Olle Sund (former PTA Engineer at Kockums Machining). Construction of a new casting facility commenced in late 2011, and from the summer of 2013 New CMB will offer casting of horizontal moulding lines and DISA, processing and surface treatment. Expected capacity is 75.000 tonnes/year.
